I enjoyed the book a lot. I thought the story was interesting and most of the male leads were actually enjoyable. It was also different to have a female lead that really was tough and didn't let the males walk all over them and make truly hideous personal decisions. Don't get me wrong Gabi runs off into battle alone like a numbskull some times but it keeps the story going I guess.

In the first book something seemed a bit off with the writing(would have rated it 4.5 if I could) but the story kept me interested. There are editing issues if that sort of thing puts you off.

I noticed there are some really bad reviews.....I guess if you are super critical maybe this isn't for you. I tend to be a little forgiving about editing if the story hooks me.

I really enjoyed all of the books in this series so in my humble opinion it is worth a shot.

I am in the middle of book 4 of this series but had to come back to review this book, because I almost missed out on this series due to some of the reviews. I have no idea what they were reviewing but it couldn't have been this book. The herione while sharing some very similar traits to others is a set above the rest. She is snarky and broken like all my favorite ones are. What sets her apart is the fact that she doesn't let that lead her into in ridiculous decisions, or fickle behavior. She isn't constantly the absolute best at everything, and not every man is trying to get in her pants. She has an interesting side job, as well as new found powers. She is unflinching loyal. In short I love her.
It took sometime for me to warm up to "Jules" but I can tell you now I am most emphatically on board. He is strong, sexy, intelligent, and only mildly over protective which he is working on. He even has a good dose of humor amidst his badassary.
As for the rest of the cast they are very well written and enjoyable. I love Kyle and the fact that he's a great Bff while still being a complete alpha male and stand alone character. I enjoy the banter between Hellcat and himself )
Please do yourself a favor and check this author out before heeding any negative reviews. I for one have already purchased the rest of the series that is available right after finishing this book.
LOVED my introduction to Gabis’ world. At first I thought she was going to be a bit too cantankerous for me but then she showed heart. Eager to start book 2!
I always appreciate characters that make me feel like they are family. Enjoyable, good mix of subplots to make it a afterburner.
Two chapters into the book and it was very clear how insubstantial this book is. I remind myself that I am trying to be fair.

Her main character is sassy like a 15 year old with a god complex (nobody likes that) and her leading man is as verbose and uncomplicated as that 15 year old's boyfriend. Their personalities are milky-thin and boring- no sort of character development. The author's descriptions are flaccid and brief.

I too am a fan of the early Anita Blake series and to compare this to it is like comparing a razor scooter to a Shelby Mustang. Nice try.

Wish I had tried to borrow from the library first. Please don't buy this book- you will never get those four dollars back.
I really like the main characters in this series and the plot is rather a lot of fun too. I know I'll enjoy an urban fantasy series if I enjoy all the main characters. I've read the first three of the series and Sharon Hannaford uses each book to give you just a little more background on each character, it's rather like getting to know a new friend, it's more fun if you get to know them in digestible pieces. I look forward to more from this fine author.
I think I read it all in one night. If you love Romance novels and like some funny parts this is your book. Wish it was longer and the description was longer. Better yet if could set up a way to view series list by Author or Title of the Series. When they don't have room for the ( part ..) or it is not viewable its a pain to find if you don't know the Title you are looking for. Plus the Cover Shows up so dark that I could not read it. DO NOT LET THAT DETRACT from reading the book.
A very rough book with little to recommend it. Gabi is a hunter for a group policing supernaturals. Must deal with an upsurge in demons with an evil vampire leading the demons. Frankly very formula. Nothing new or original. The writing is rough with often poor transitions beween scenes. I had to reread one twice before I realized that no there wasn't something missing. The romance with the good vampire is poorly setup and frankly unbelievable. There are some good bones here and I observe the series has grown to six books. Clearly someone likes it. I have better things to do.
