Dr. Erin Harris may be a scientist, but she has an unscientific obsession to find a living Varanus priscus. Cryptozoologists call it the Devil dragon. This is a fun book, but oh, I really didn't like the ending.
The book is short on explanations (and logic), but heavy on beasties, body parts, and blood (the 3 b's of any good creature feature). Our characters were drawn a little thinly and the only characters who really counted were one old man (not the main character) and a voracious critter.
So, don't expect too much. But it is a fun adventure of a horror novel. The action scenes are stellar. And our chompy thing is pretty awesome.
A fun bubblegum read that won't tax your brain.
Good start, interesting read. Then we are left dangling at the "end" with no real conclusion. What happened?

I couldn't put this book down & resented any interruptions. It was very well written & so exciting & intense. Towards the end I found myself grinding my teeth & wanted to scream out "Run!!!" Be prepared to be thrilled.
interesting premise of a very scary predator. however, weak ending, most of the characters were too polarized to be interesting.
