A thrilling, hot new romance! Who knew a guy with a lip ring could be so hot.I have heard nothing but great things about Molly McAdams, and was excited to read this book. I'll admit nothing got done after this package arrived, as I sat down thinking I'd glance through the book, but oh no, once I started reading page one I was hooked, and ended up sitting down and reading this book in the afternoon. Let me paraphrase this book for you...... "It's a thrilling, hot new romance!" Yes, thrilling and hot belong in the same sentence, because there are some intense, thrilling moments that happening that kept me on the edge of my seat, and then there are plenty of hot swoon worthy sexy times that had me sighing.
Rachel and Kash' relationship had a bit of a rough start, and I love that Kash and his room mate Mason didn't get turned away by Rachel's harsh edge. Trust me, you know why she's like that and it's for good reason. Oh nelly! Kash and Rachel of a lot of sizzling chemistry. Seriously. These two heat up the pages. As much as I love sexy times in guilty pleasures read, I loved that there's more to this story than just that. This story was truly about Kash and Rachel, and their relationship. Thank you Molly for creating characters who don't run away and hide from things that neither at first wants to tell the other about. I can't stand that when characters do that, and luckily both Kash and Rachel aren't the running kind. Both characters have things that they don't hide, but they also don't let certain things from their pasts define them. They confront things in their own ways, and together these two over come them, cope with them, and become stronger together.
I loved, loved, loved how Molly introduced her characters, and allowed them to slowly get to know each of them, as they got to know each other. In doing so she allowed me to feel like I got to know them as friends. I understood their motives, their emotions, their reasons for their actions, and above all, I felt like the relationship that Kash and Rachel develop was real. I loved how they went from being strangers, to getting to know each other, and seeing them grow close and learned to open up and trust each other. They seriously just clicked, and it made sense. It wasn't forced, but a natural click. Slowly that closeness grew to becoming best friends, and then into lovers and something more. Their relationship was one that was realistic, and I loved it.
I love it when a story makes me laugh, swoon, want to cry and makes me feel a wide range of emotions while reading it. Did I mention it also made me want to punch Rachel's best friend and the dirt bag who hurts Rachel (no it's not Kash). That to me proves that the author has done their job, and their writing was flawless as it connected me with their story. Molly did just that with Forgiving Lies. I loved the characters, well all but two and I'll get to that in a moment, how things developed between them, and the way the story was written. With every great story there are supporting characters who make the characters I love even stronger, and Kash's room-mate and best friend, Mason does just that. I LOVED how these two were with Rachel, especially during a heart breaking moment in the book. Their protectiveness and want to protect her goes beyond sigh worthy. It will make you wish you always had a Kash and Mason in your life, if you haven't before.
That moment that broke Rachel made me not stand Rachel's so called best friend Candice. What she does and doesn't do in this book was in excusable, and the more story goes along the more and more I seriously despised her. I really wish that Rachel had given her a piece of her mind. No best friend would do what Candice did. I can't say what that something is without given away spoiler. Speaking of spoilers, there is a thrilling edge of your seat part of this book. Gah, I wanted to deck the guy who I won't name. I'm so glad Kash and Mason came into the picture when they did. Even then something still happens to Rachel, and it's so heart breaking and horrifying. Luckily Kash and Mason are there....
Aside from that and Candice, I really enjoyed this book. I fell in love with Molly's characters, I enjoyed her writing, and now I'm an official Molly McAdams fan and need the next book in this series. I hope down the line that Molly will give Mason his own story too. This guy needs his own book! If you're already a Molly fan, pick this one up. If you're new to Molly's books, pick this one up! I'll just saw you'll end up loving a guy with a lip ring. (wink, wink).

Forgiving Lies A Novel edition by Molly McAdams Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
HOW HAVE I WAITED THIS LONG TO READ THIS BOOK? My sister read Forgiving Lies forever ago and I remember her saying that it was awesome, but I just never got around to reading it. I picked it up for the "yellow book" challenge for the booktubeathon and I gobbled this book up in one day.
Undercover cop Kash can't have any distractions when he's undercover, especially the new case that he and his partner have been put on. Finding the serious killer The Carnation Killer is imperative so that more girls don't die. Rachel is done with guys, but when gorgeous, infuriating Kash moves across the hall, they can't stop being around each other. Tension soon turns into undeniable chemistry, but Kash's lies may be too big for even them to overcome.
Ooooooh this book. I mean, with a guy like Kash, I was bound to love this book. It was so adorable how much Rachel and Kash bickered when they first met and how easy it was for them to fall into a friendships. Rachel's supposed best friend was such a horrible person and I had a hard time understanding how Rachel was even still friends with her, especially with how she had reacted to what had happened to Rachel at the end of the book. I mean, she didn't even try to listen to Rachel's side and it was her best friend! That aside, Kash and Rachel's friendship was so adorable and I was left begging for them to just get together already. And when they did? Fireworks. Oh, and I loved Kash's partner Mason. Such a fun character and an actual good friend.
Not only was this an amazing romance, but it had it's mystery/thriller side as well. I mean, Kash is an undercover cop looking for a serial killer. Obviously, the serial killer is going to make an appearance. And, Rachel goes through some pretty scary, crappy stuff that had me so scared for her on multiple occasions. And that ending!!! How could Molly end the book that way?!?!? All I can say is that I need book two ASAP.
What more can I say? I freaking loved this book and devoured the dangerous and addicting story inside. Kash is so swoon worthy and I loved how hard and fast he fell for Rachel. Seriously, go read this book. Right now. You need it. Everyone could use a little cash in their lives.
I had found myself wanting to find a book that kept me awake at night. A book that I absolutely couldn’t put down, one that I thought about while at work. Well, I finally got that with this book. I would read it late at night and hated that my eyes wouldn’t allow me to read more than I did. This book sucked me in and I loved it.
Logan “Kash” is the perfect example of my Alpha Male. He’s forceful in getting the information he wants, but so sweet and tender when loving the girl he has. Kash is now in my top #5 book boyfriends.
Rachel is so strong and funny. I loved her sass and the fact that she didn’t take crap from Kash or the people around her.
The plot was intriguing and unique. I totally didn’t see a certain event coming to light until it happened. I was like, “What? He is the what? Holy Hell!” I was blown away with the suspense in this one. Can you say Cliffhanger? Yes, this one ends with one, and it killed me. I can’t wait for Deceiving Lies to release. I need to know what happens and I’m praying that Molly doesn’t break my heart. This book is going in my archive under “Must Read Again”, I can’t tell you anymore without ruining it. Read it, loved it, and I’m dying to read more. Well done, Molly McAdams!
I give this book 5 STARS! ~Jen
